Me + my kids

It was time again. Time to shoot my hardest clients- my kids and myself. We shot a few family shots back in the spring but being as chaotic as it was to be both in front and behind the camera, I completely forgot to get shots of the three kids. Plus the fall colors were calling my name.  So it was time to take the kids out for a quick photoshoot.
I'm also currently working on redesigning the look of my website for next year, so I thought now was a good time to get a few shots of me for the "About Ange" section.
For the shots of me, it was really frustrating to know exactly what I wanted, how I wanted it shot, etc, and to try to direct it all from in front of the camera, but my husband was a sport and I think they turned out pretty good.

Kiersten F. {Lewiston, ID Senior Portraits}

I was supposed to shoot Kiersten's session on Thursday, but with the massive downpour, ended up having to reschedule. We were rescheduled for tommorow, but with the beautiful sunny day we were having today and the dismal upcoming weather forecast, we decided to go ahead and shoot them today. So glad we did! I haven't seen this much sun during a session in a couple weeks, it was beautiful. Kiersten, you are gorgeous and thanks to your dad for all the help on the session. Hope you enjoy my favorites from today:

Boreson Family {Lewiston-Clarkston Valley Family Photography}

This family is hands down one of my absolute favorites to photograph.  Shaunessy is my hairdresser, and I get to go to her for therapy to chat, um I mean to keep my hair in line (and please don't hold her responsible for those days I decide to go with the messy bun as my look). Am I the only person that feels like as soon as a person starts handling my hair on a regular basis, I must spill my guts to them? I think it would be pretty interesting to be a hairstylist and hear everyone's life story.

Aside from getting to see Shaunessy and her husband, Herbie (whose name terrifies me as I'm always sooo nervous that I'm going to prounounce his name wrong, with the "H" silent, like he's a herb such as basil or thyme). Their kids are wonderful, so easy to photograph, super cooperative and fun...and I think this is the fourth time or so that they've been in front of my camera, and every time has been great. Is it even right that not only are their kids well behaved but they all look like little GAP models? That's just not right. I know their kids are probably have their moments, and I'm not their parent so they probably are better for me (my kids have that too, they are awesome for anyone who is not their parent....we parents don't get quite the same amount of awesome behavior, they definitely have their moments), but still, very impressive and well done on the parenting end, Herbie & Shaunessy .
As we worked through the session, it was fun to see them loosen up a bit, play and be silly. I'm pretty sure this family gets really silly when no one's looking. :)
Hope you guys enjoy my favorites from this evening!

Isaac C. {Lewiston, ID Senior Photography}

Isaac's parents have been my friends for many years...in fact, Isaac and his family used to live down the street from me when I was a teenager. It's amazing to me that he's grown up and graduating high school! And handsome to boot :) Isaac & Tanya, it was fun catching up with you tonight, I hope you enjoy my favorites from this evening:

Mitch & Jessi {Lewiston, ID Engagement Photography}

This is a super awesome couple whose wedding I have the honor of shooting in April. I met Jessi a couple years back, she had heard of me from my photography. We chatted here and there and she has directed many senior portraits my way. It was fun to finally have her have her own turn in front of my camera.
Jessi is like a ball of sunshine, and ironically enough, she loves rainy days. So I totally blame her for today's weather. This morning, it rained the kind of rain that makes you worry your indoor/outdoor cat might possibly drown out there. Luckily the sky broke right at the time of our session, and we had mostly clear skies after that.  (And if you're wondering, my indoor/outdoor cat didn't drown).  I realized I was taking this indian summer we are having for granted...the weather has been so warm and sunny and I keep complaining that I'd like some crisp fall weather...I forgot with that weather comes a lot of rainy days.
Mitch, it was a pleasure to meet you tonight, and Jessi, always a pleasure to be graced by your presence. Hope you both enjoy my favorites from this evening:
