Angela F. {Lewiston Clarkston Senior Portraits}

One of my favorite things about my job is getting to meet all different kinds of people. Angela is no exception. She isn't your typical girly girl, and I had fun peeling the layers of her personality to see who she is this evening. She loves to do graphic arts, here's an example of her work.  I've started to do some drawing on my iPad (I used to do real art back in the day, before I decided photography was more my speed, so it's fun to delve into that again). It was fun talking with her about graphic art, I can't wait to see what she does with it in the future.

We started her session out in her backyard, with her cat Garfield,
who wasn't quite so into the pictures, but was kind enough to cooperate. :)

Thanks for hanging out with me this evening, Angela!

Amy & Gabe {Spalding Park Wedding Lewiston, ID Wedding Photographer}

Amy & Gabe were married today in a beautiful ceremony in one of my absolute favorite outdoor venues, Spalding Park. Something about September weddings, they are always so beautiful. I think it's because the sun is a little less harsh and creates better lighting for gorgeous shots. Anyway, I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites, but here are a few from today:

(This is her brother first seeing her in her gown. He was also her "man" of honor (instead of "maid") and you can tell they are very close: photo image_-7_tn-2.jpg

Bride and groom first seeing each other:

Schmidt family {Lewiston- Clarkston Family portraits}

So let me just start by telling you about a major life change that happened to me this week. I converted from a PC user to a Mac user.  Listen PC users, there's a reason Mac users are kind of like a cult. Because these machines run like a beast. Not the kind of beast that falls over every few minutes when you try to run your super large editing programs. No, my friends, I can open every single giant program at once and it doesn't even stutter. {Yep, Photoshop CS6, Indesign, Illustrator, Lightshop, and Pandora, all at once!} Which means, my workflow process is much faster.
The down side is, I don't have all the sitting around for my computer to process something time to check my email and Facebook. Now I have to CHOOSE to waste time.
Dang.
I also found a sweet app that lets me time myself while doing projects. Helps me to focus and not try to check Instagram, Facebook, or Food Gawker every 5 minutes (again, while old PC was slugging along). I'm kind of an addict for all timers (we won't talk about how many I own), so of course this was right up my alley.
So here's to a super fast computer and less time wasted. :)
Now, let me go check my Facebook....

I kid. This is the Schmidt family who I had the pleasure of shooting at the beach tonight. I have to say, toddlers at the beach, now that's fun. They can play in the sand between shots, and at the end, jump in the water. What more can you ask for in a photo session?

Tara {Kindermusik teacher portraits Lewiston, ID}

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Tara this evening, shooting her in her element (her Kindermusik room). She is starting classes soon, so if you have a little one, check them out!
Tara's a pretty neat lady, she's very smart and has a degree in secondary education with music and some thing to do with choir. Anyhow, she now has found a new joy in teaching a completely different age of kids to love music.
Here's my favorite shots from tonight:
