Krystal & TJ {maternity}

One of our favorite couples came over yesterday and I shot a little mini session with them. Their baby girl is due in just a few weeks!  TJ is a talented videographer here in the valley, and hopefully soon I will be able to get my hands on some of his work to showcase on my blog.

Here's a few of my favorite shots from their session:

Josh {senior portraits}

This guy is actually my baby brother. He is a lot younger than me, so when he was little he always felt like a nephew. I would pack him around on my hip like he was my own baby. I can't believe he's graduating all ready and headed off to the Marines. He also was quite a pill to take pictures of. You just don't get any respect from your own family. :) Yeah, that's right Josh! He barely shaved before he showed up- as in missed long hairs all over his face. I asked him if he shaved and he said "Yeah, but I didn't really put much effort in." Yeah, you think? So we spent about 10 minutes with my dad's pocket knife scissors trying to fix his shave job prior to pictures. I told my mom she the day he gets married, she needs to do a better job inspecting his hygiene. I'm sure moms of boys out there can relate!
These pictures were all taken in my grandparent's canyon. My Grandpa used to live in this canyon before he married my grandma and farmed it and after he retired from farming, he spent his days down in the canyon taking care of the garden, trees, and land down there.

Maddie {senior session}

Senior season has begun! If you are wanting to get senior portraits and haven't booked yet, be sure and do so soon- I always fill up pretty quickly every year. I shot Maddie's senior portraits last week, and she is a beauty! My camera LOVED her.

Maddie's last name is Druffel, so she wanted a picture by this road sign:

And we ended with the Clarkston Fire Station. Maddie's dad is a firefighter and she hopes to become a volunteer firefighter so we got the okay from the chief. It was so fun doing this unique session!

Maddie {teaser}

Here's a little teaser for you from Maddie's session. We got to use a fire engine from the Clarkston Fire Station! Way too much fun for me. Maddie: you rock. That is all. :)

Mini session backdrop option #2

I just got in another backdrop option for the mini sessions!  There's one more coming, and while this is a bright color, the next will be a nice mellow color, so if you don't prefer the color, stay tuned for the last one. This is my mom's dog, Leonard. I knew he'd be a great little face to show you the backdrops. He did a great job. He really is my parent's baby. He is pretty cute. You may want to get pictures of your pet as well, so think mini sessions! Click on the photo ad at the bottom to see more info on mini sessions. Make sure to book your session soon if you are wanting one!

Gray was option #1 in case you missed it:

And another cute face. You can see the two bottom teeth that just popped up this last week:

Tim & Kara {Tied the knot!}

I was a bit nervous about the weather yesterday for Tim and Kara's wedding- it was raining in the morning, and there were lightning and thunder storms in the forecast. I do love to take pictures, but I'd rather not die for them. The wedding and portraits were all to be outdoors, so I prayed that we would have clear skies during the portraits, and we did! It rained up until 10 minutes before portraits and didn't start raining heavy again until 30 minutes before the ceremony- after the portraits were all completed. There were cracks of lightning around and we were getting a bit nervous about the ceremony, but it cleared up just in time for the procession. Thanks Tim & Kara for picking us to capture your special day! We hope you grow old together and more in love each year.
I also want to throw in that we had the pleasure of working with Tyler Swenson from Millenium Music. He is always so professional and did a great job of making sure that everything happened when it needed to- the bride and groom didn't have to worry about it at all. Thanks Tyler, we always enjoy working with you!

Tim made this arbor and set it up a couple days before the wedding. A local catering company stopped and asked if they could purchase it for their events. It's pretty neat, huh?

Godprint {Children's summer day camp}

Godprint is a summer day camp that is put on by River City Church in Lewiston. My girls are both old enough to go, and it is something they look forward to all summer. Each year they offer some of the coolest classes...I so wish I could've had that as a kid. This year, some of the classes that were offered included soccer, drama, outdoor adventures, scuba adventures, hip-hop dance, super doodles, basketball, and more. One of the classes was called "International Waters" and introduced the kids to other cultures. The day I photographed it, they had a Japanese girl in a traditional Japanese outfit. She read a few sentences to the kids in Japanese and one of the kids yelled out "Can you read in real words, please?!" Evidently this was his first experience with another language.
Another cute thing I overheard was a little boy telling another boy (in a lisp) "Ith mo powite to let ladieth go firth" (It's more polite to let ladies go first). If you kids are Pre-k through Grade 6, definitely find the Godprint Kids page on Facebook so you know when Godprint starts next year.
