Wedding customer of the year is....

In case you don't know, what wedding customer of the year award is, this award is to show appreciation to a couple who really went above and beyond their role as a customer to make us feel welcome, were fantastic to work with, and really went out of their way to make sure we could do the best job possible. The winning couple will receive a free session package (value of $399)- they can pick between a trash the dress/bridal (portrait session with you in your wedding dress and your groom dressed up- but more relaxed than the wedding day portraits), a couple's session, or a maternity session if you're already working on babies! :)

Church family

The Church family were visiting from California and decided to get their portraits done while they were here. I was honored that they chose me. I love how the fall colors look with Haley's (the mom) hair. Also, can we all say that she looks amazing and who would've ever known she's had 5 kids? Gorgeous. I was a bit nervous about the prospect of shooting 5 little ones at once (you know what they say about working with kids and animals) but these kids were amazing, and you would've never known I was working with 5 of them by how easy it was. Thanks Church family!

G. Family

Another session from the day that was SUPPOSED to be a Winter Wonderland. Thank goodness the fall color was still around! Thanks "G" family, you have gorgeous girls.

Nuzzling into her baby sister wasn't what I asked her to do. But it turned out so perfect. 

She stole the show with her moment of love:

I normally love color more than black and white. My camera does a fantastic job shooting color and it seems sad to waste gorgeous colors. But, in this case, I think I may like the black and white better. No colors distracting from the emotion of the moment. Taking a second to let her baby sister know how much she loves her:

All these girls are beautiful in their own way, but something about Ms. T (I think it's that mischievous sparkle in her eye) that makes me wonder what she's thinking:

Baby P. {birth story}

I just got back from a birth and had to post pictures on my blog since I'm too hopped up to sleep at the moment. If there's one thing that I like to photograph even more than weddings, it's births. There is nothing that is as amazing as watching a new life come into the world.

Derting family

I woke up this morning to snow. It doesn't snow hardly ever here, and it's never happened to snow on the same day I had sessions booked. So I was ELATED to shoot in a winter wonderland. Unfortunately, it got too balmy and the snow was pretty much gone by time I started shooting. It was still beautiful. I love the deep colors of the wet wood and deep fall. I'm also a huge fan of Brittney's coloring. The pale skin with the dark hair...reminds me of Snow White (in a good way Brit!)

Sinner family

This is Lacie's last year at home before she becomes a college girl , so her family thought it was time to seize the day and get family portraits . This family is so fun , makes me want to be a member!  : )

Bailee {portraits just because}

This session is of my niece, Bailee (or as my younger daughter used to call her, "Billy"), who is very beautiful and growing up entirely too fast. I remember when she was a chubby little toddler!

Bailee is a dancer. The jacket she is wearing reminds me of Michael Jackson, so I had her do a little MJ move. The second shot was right after she was jumping or something for me and I really like the happy accident it caused.
